The interactive 'focus on' section allows pupils to develop historical source analysis skills. 'Exhibitions' provide further detailed analysis and entertaining learning activities. An excellent site with lots of information and fun activities, including debates and quizzes. Covers a huge range of topics and includes a virtual classroom and revision material where subjects are closely linked to the curriculum. In addition to this downloadable materials, interactive games and online quizzes offer a wide range of history learning resources. An enormous collection of encyclopaedia-like entries covering a huge range of topics. Excellent material of direct research use for pupils and teachers. Use in the classroom will empower pupils to research and learn independently by making use of the hyperlinked cross-references. Also home of the History Department of the Teachers' Virtual School. Splendid site with user friendly content for teachers and students, including interactive tasks, detailed background information, image galleries, GCSE revision and a huge range of quizzes, plus photocopiable worksheets (PDFs and Word documents).
