The Mary Rose site is one of the best virtual museums including material on life aboard ship aimed at KS2 and also a very impressive tour of the museum's main artifacts. There is also information about the conservation of the Tudor ship.

This interactive online exhibition at the Museum of London provides unique information on the Blitz experience. Topic include the background, staying alive, being bombed, doing your bit and memories. Visitors are invited to submit their own experiences.

The Imperial War Museum's site includes a guide to the museum and it's collections with some special online exhibitions making extensive use of the museum's archival materials such as sound, documents and pictures.

This is the web guide to UK museums and galleries. It includes a huge range of information, not just on permanent exhibitions but also on temporary displays and educational events. Includes a curriculum finder to search the online database for relevant material and events.

An amazing site with an enormous range of information. Easy navigation allows quick and simple access to materials via a number of different routes. The only downfall is that the final information is never that extensive - perfect for initial research though.

This site presents itself as an awesome and ever growing resource for history. To a certain extent this is true, although the interface and navigation is often unwieldy and confusing. This aside, some very useful timelines (hyperlinked with images and information) are available.
