There are few people in the world who dislike playing games and they make fantastic learning environments. The examples gathered here all have a mathematical theme and can all be accessed over the internet. Most are geared towards Keys stages 2 or 3. The only site dedicated to online games with a mathematical theme is the UK based Numeracy Activities site; a space worth watching in the future as they develop an increasing number of activities.

Rotate, reflect and translate the ball round nine holes. A great way into transformations.

Soma Cubes

Soma cubes are essentially 3 dimensional pentominoes. This online version is great fun!

Interpreting a Line Graph

Another Numeracy Activities site, this is by far the best medium for teaching line graph interpretation in Algebra.

Megamaths!

Megamaths hosts a suite of excellent tables games produced by the BBC. Geared towards key stage 2 though may suit those in key stage 3 whose skills need reinforcement.
